General English: Elementary to Advanced Levels*
(5 Levels) 10 weeks

Fees: AUD355.00 per week

General English offers English for students preparing for entry into the Secondary School Preparation Program or English for Academic Purposes course as well as English language development and recreational English.

 

Secondary School Preparation Program (SSPP)* - Springfield campus only

Fees: AUD355.00 per week

Prepares students to enter Junior or Senior secondary school in a UIL partner school.
Junior high school entry (years 8-10)             20 week SSPP
Senior high school entry (years 11-12)          10 week SSPP

 

English For Academic Purposes (EAP) - Direct Entry English Program (DEEP)
(3 Levels)10 weeks

Fees: AUD355.00 per week

Provides students with the necessary skills to feel confident to commence studies at tertiary institutions.

 

IELTS Preparation
(2 Levels) 10 weeks

Fees: AUD355.00 per week

Prepares students for the IELTS exam.

 

English for Business Purposes - Springfield campus only
10 weeks

Fees: AUD355.00 per week

Assists to improve business English skills particularly in reading, writing and speaking.

 

* Courses commence each Monday

 

 

Course Entry Requirements

 

Upon application to UIL, you will be required to submit an official English test result* (IELTS, PTE, TOEFL), undertaken within the previous 2 years, or complete a UIL Placement Test.  UIL will provide a recommendation based on this evidence of English proficiency, which will advise the optimal pathway of study required to proceed onto secondary or tertiary studies, or to meet personal goals.  Supporting documentation provided with your application may also be taken into account. 

 

* All applications for EAP programs (DEEP1, 2, 3) require an official English test result (IELTS, PTE, TOEFL) 

 

Course Assessment

A test of all 4 macro skills specifically aimed at testing proficiency levels in the stated learning outcomes will take place at the end of each 5 weeks of study. Final results incorporate ongoing and formal assessment test results.
