Student Testimonials

Van Chung Vuong – UniSQ Bachelor of IT
I chose this English course because it will take me a long period of time to adapt to this country. This term, I have met many teachers and all of them were very friendly, knowledgeable, patient and interesting. Furthermore, UIL is well-located just next to UniSQ, which means I can find out more things about this institution and have more confidence when I study a Bachelor of Information Technology there after I finish my English courses. For instance, I found great facilities like the basketball court and coffee shop, and I’ve seen nice gardens and scenery on the campus. This place also has a swimming pool, and it is situated near a shopping centre, so it’s easy to buy something you want. Finally, I want to thank my teachers, who have ensured that I’ve had a great course. They’ve not only taught me English, but have also gone out of their way to help me with other questions whenever I needed it.

Manni DAI – St Aidan’s Girls’ Anglican School
I have successfully graduated from UIL back in early July and I am now studying in St Aidan’s Girls’ Anglican School. I am very grateful to my classmates and my teachers at UIL, who let me feel the warmth of my hometown in a foreign country. I have spent a colourful language learning life there. We shared the cultures of different countries in the class, which impressed me deeply. In addition, the activities of UIL are also very rich. In UIL, you could not only feel the sea water on the beach of the Gold Coast, but also learn gymnastics and ceramics with the teachers. These activities have been a great highlight for my language learning journey.
The teachers in UIL are all very responsible and helpful. The preparation course at
UIL made my English a step further and better adapted to the learning style of the mainstream school. It is an important buffer period between my arrival in Australia and entering the destination school.

Kevin GAO – Indooroopilly SHS
I’ve been studying in Indooroopilly State High School for nearly one month after finishing the studying programs at Union Institute of Language. I feel comfortable studying in UIL with friendly and responsible teachers who always care about and support the students. What we learned in SSPP was diverse and included listening, speaking, reading and writing. It had a positive impact and my English improved a lot. It also included scientific knowledge, for example we learned about the human body and volcanos, which helped us when studying other scientific subjects in high school. My spoken English and writing were pretty poor before I started studying in UIL as I didn’t have many pure English environments at home where I could practice. I talked and wrote in English all the time in UIL, thus I made a huge breakthrough personally. It would have been hard for me to adapt to the pace of the high school learning if I didn’t receive high quality learning at UIL.
